"Dread rot" is where your dreadlocks smell like musty old towels because of mildew and the agreed consensus among the deadlock community is that they have to be cut off. I had been exercising quite a bit and my dreadlocks weren't smelling so good. I was at a loss because none of the standard deadlock soaps were working. I've only had dreads for about 6 months and they're finally starting to do what is intended, so it broke my heart thinking I'd have to cut them. This soap saved them! They no longer stink, at all, even when I've trimmed a few and dissected them to be sure. I'm positively stoked! I don't have to cut them and have 2 inches of hair on my head! This is not an intended use for this soap, due to the high concentration of essential oils (as I was told by the company), so you have to watch your eyes, but I'll be using this one 3-4 times a week as a shampoo. It's not advertised as residue free so the other days will be a clarifying shampoo, but it's fantastic!It also works great as a body wash. Smells great, kills odor. If you have any Candida issues it burns like crazy but it definitely helps the symptoms. I believe it states it helps wash the fungus away and doesn't claim to cure, and it delivers on its claim. But if you're like me and have been experiencing multiple yeast related problems, I would recommend seeing a holistic practitioner. The problem might be systemic, as mine is, and need a systemic approach to ensure long term results. I'd still recommend this for relief in the meantime, and no doubt you'll be hooked on it permanently!They've developed a loyal customer in me, and Candida problems or no, this will be my body wash of choice in the future.
