Our pantry is so dark even in broad daylight. It's too small to mess around with lightbulbs, but dim enough to find a light source. I bought this thinking it was just white light but it comes in all sorts of colors including white. It comes with a remote control and a button to light up (two ways to turn on). If you press the button once, it turns white. Press it a second or third time and it turns into all the colors of the rainbow. I'm not sure I needed all the colors of the rainbow in my pantry, but this is fun. I especially like it when it gets darker, especially at night, as it doesn't wake me up too much and gives my eyes time to adjust. I rarely use the remote because it's just a matter of pressing the start button, but the remote has options to fade, flash, lighten or darken, etc. Obviously this is just my pantry, so there's no flash. Good quality. Takes batteries so no wires.
