Review on πŸ”΄ Red Mid-Century Modern Upholstered Fabric Dining Chair with Wood Legs by Modway Aegis by Julie Johnson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

+ for design. Big "F " for quality.

This chair looks great - it really does. But man, they're so cheaply made, you should be warned. I have two in my desktop gallery and they look so great (and the seat fits the body so well) that I've probably sold ten of them to customers who also use Revain. However, they are really poorly / cheaply made. The legs bolt onto a screw that protrudes from some sort of wire system attached to the underside of the seat. The legs started unscrewing on their own for the first few months, which I was willing to put up with no matter how annoying (and dangerous) it was. But just two weeks ago, just two years after purchase, the entire leg system came loose from the seat. We thought, okay, let's just bolt it back to the seat. Impossible. The seat is made from a very cheap composite material and there is no way to screw the system back into the hole. If you want this Just for Beauty chair, you won't be disappointed. However, don't expect to be able to use it frequently, let alone long-term.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
