Reviews on this camera are excellent. The video is truly incredible and surpasses anything I've seen with a consumer camcorder. But there are big problems if you really want to enjoy the recorded video. Before I continue, I'll tell you a little about my family. I am a 33 year old television production professional. I have produced and edited several television shows. My daughter, who was also supposed to be using the camera, works as an IT professional and helps business users with software and hardware issues. None of us were able to use the video recorded on the camcorder's RAM disk on either a Windows PC or an Apple IMAC G5. After repeatedly contacting Panasonic Technical Support, they were unable to resolve any of our main issues. The person in charge of training others on their support system admitted they didn't even have this camera or a stripped down D250 at their facility for testing or training purposes. Although their manual has over 10 pages dedicated to using the camcorder with APPLE, they have stated that they will not offer support to Apple owners. From the Windows side, the camera is not recognized even if the popular ROXIO software is installed on your computer. Once that's removed we have the video but no audio. We have video and sound with the MAC, but there is no way to convert the video to work with Apple's iMOVIE or iDVD software. At a time when hardware is becoming so complex, poorly trained customer support is inexcusable. By the way, I have two Panasonic DVD recorders, two other Panasonic DVD players and one Panasonic portable DVD player, so I was certainly inclined to say positive things about this company. Today I sent my camcorder back to AMAZON.
