I have the finest, waterproof and durable model WG2 designed to provide years of flawless performance. I bought this one because there isn't an adapter that will allow the WG2 to fit the Hero 8 (good news, I found the adapter fits both gimbals). Lower build quality, no water resistance, weak switch that can't be turned on and off unknowingly when working with a gimbal, half the mounting sockets - generally a smaller machine. It's cheaper, yes, and easier. I would pay extra for Hero 8 compatibility to get the WG2, but FeiyuTech says you can't have that. The WG2X worked well enough, mostly on a chest strap, for just over a month. When photographing while mountain biking, the camera shaft then begins to rotate uncontrollably at high speed. I pressed and held the power button until it either worked or the battery died due to the camera's frantic rotation. You must see the video! Then the death of young WG2X. Right after the return window has closed. numbers, right? Approach the WG2X with caution, and if your recordings are critical, you'll have a backup.
