What was my biggest problem when buying an LCD. Most of the cheaper brands - well they're cheaper because people are content to live with dots on the screen. This monitor received positive reviews elsewhere, and this site had the best price. It's BIG and looks great. Most/all monitors of this size currently use TN panels and I suspect this will fit due to the viewing angle and some see-through at the top and bottom of the screen when loading. As a graphic designer, you need a smaller screen (19 inch) with a higher quality panel. But then you already knew. We only use ours for regular home/work/play use and love the extra space it offers. If you're using an IDE, you have enough room for all the small windows or code windows side by side. I particularly like the fact that it is not only adjustable in height, but also in almost every direction. It also has nice options for setting different resolutions in case you don't want to work with maximum settings. Make sure you want widescreen or standard. One isn't better than the other, just a matter of personal taste. We now have the Windows XP taskbar on the right side, with no auto-hide, which allows for a bit more width and also gives us more height since it's not at the bottom. All in all I have purchased Viewsonics in the past and have been very satisfied and this is no exception.
