Another happy owner

There are MANY detailed and good reviews here so I'll just add one more vote. I doubt I'll say anything unique, so I'll be brief. I bought this with the intention of gifting it to my grandson as a bushcraft knife. What attracted me was the low cost compared to many other standard options. For comparison I have a TOPS BOB knife. it's good, but it costs almost twice as much and weighs about twice as much. If you don't have big hands, this knife is well sized and well balanced. Mine came out of the box sharp. I like sharpening the blade. I appreciate some of the negative comments about molle sheaths but am very happy with them. The shell's "system" is somewhat modular. The base of the case is some kind of plastic. The knife is simply inserted and locked with a tactile and audible click. Can be easily removed without much effort. The included leather strap attaches to the base plastic case for added security, as does a belt loop that slips over the case just below the tether strap. If you mount the knife in the included "Molle" compatible frame, you can still use the leather strap for attachment, but not the clip-on belt loop. So once you have this molle attached to your pack, you can't just detach it and then hang it on your belt without carrying (and wearing) the belt loop accessory separately. I don't see this as a big problem, but be aware. Given the choice, I would still prefer the molle case to the leather case option. There are many other reviews of this knife in terms of steel quality, edge retention, "durability" and resistance to mishandling. Nothing to say. I think the main reasons to buy this knife over other bushcraft options are: a) lower cost compared to other bushcraft options, b) lighter weight, and c) compatibility with fireproof steel (TOPS BOB isn't that great for that) .
