The best kennel! Great for travel and easy to clean and set up!

God I rarely write reviews on Amazon but I HAVE to admire this pop up pen! I was a bit hesitant to buy a new pen as other people have written about how flimsy and poorly made it is, but I'm so glad I got it as there's nothing I didn't like about it! We used to have a heavy metal handle that folded and all the hinges fell apart and we needed something new. We have a 24lb Rat Terrier/Chihuahua/American Eskimo mix who is tall (about 23 inches) and has no problem getting into this pen. We've had this pen for a few weeks now and she wasn't sure at first but after a few days she liked it. I love that it folds nice and flat, it's easy to install, it's sturdy and well made, no threads sticking out anywhere, it has side pockets for storage (!), it even comes with a holdall with handles , which is so handy, and the interior is roomy enough for them but closed enough to feel more like a hideaway than the previous metal handle. It's waterproof and the bottom and top zippers can be unzipped when you need it, and we leave the dog half-zipped to allow them to breathe. It's so well made the zippers are so smooth they don't get caught on anything and the bonus is that the top and bottom zippers overlap so it's very easy to put on the top and bottom that fully match to open. She takes up maybe 1/3 of the pen and we put her bed in and she still doesn't fill the whole pen. We can even put her water and food bowl in while we're away during the day so she always has her supplies and enough space to feel like a separate bedroom and dining area, which probably wouldn't work when getting a pup used to a cage. I also love that they came up with the idea of adding velcro to the door so you can roll it up whenever you want or leave it down to make it look like a dog door panel. There are two entrances, but we usually only keep one closed and facing the wall. She even sleeps there during the day and I don't ask her to, she usually sleeps there at night and we close the whole pen to make her nice and cozy. Best of all it's not uncomfortable and difficult to lift and we have hardwood floors where the metal handle has been scratching the floor all the time and it's fabric but really good quality. Highly recommend if you're looking for a den and don't want a hefty kennel. If you have a smaller to medium sized dog and don't want to use cages or paddocks but also travel with your dog, this would be your best alternative. I would say it won't work for a heavier, larger dog, probably best for a dog under 40lbs just so he doesn't have the weight to break the pin. But we're also lucky she didn't try to jump from the top, especially since we're keeping her half open. I love it so much and I don't think I can go back to heavy, clunky drawers and handles!
