We brought this to pack and play so we could leave our child in our room after his cradle has grown and brought a second one to pack and play on the first floor. We figured once he's outgrown the pack and playing or ready to go to his room his crib would be perfect to have as a travel backpack and play rather than wasting money on a cradle and the whole crib in ours to bring room. The mattress is really important. When we were traveling and taking a mattress with us at night, it was difficult for us to roll it up and try to fit it in a holdall. But once you've rolled it up and zipped it up, you're good to go. It only takes a few tries. It would probably be nice to have some velcro to hold it in place that they could pack next time. I could try keeping it simple with yarn to keep it rolled up tight so it would be easier. Would definitely buy again to pack and play
