Review on 🌿 Vegan Leather SlideBelts with No Holes by Doug Layman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Belt needs revision or price reduction for 7 months

Bought this belt in December 2017 and it lasted until July 2018 when one of the legs of the ratchet buckle broke off (see photo). I am completely satisfied with the ratchet belt, was my first time with such a belt, so I bought the original slide belt and not a fake like the Mission. The quality of the ratchet in the buckle and strap is excellent. . It never slips, wears out, and the locking/locking mechanism lasts forever. The edges of the strap started peeling off after about 4 months, and after 7 months the buckle itself broke. The mechanical part of the buckle appears to be cast from cheap metal and then plated with chrome. The finish is beautiful and looks very clear when you wear it. The structural part of the buckle that is most stressed seems to be underdeveloped. In the photo you can see the broken leg on the ratchet, it's thin in that area and should probably be thicker. It happened while I was filming it. I expected the $38 strap to last about a year before the strap needed replacing, but I assumed the buckle would last longer. I wear it maybe 4-5 days a week, waist size 34, and I wear it to church and the office to work (no repelling or kickboxing). Three stars only 7 months before failure, two stars for peeling after 4 months. I could get the same quality at Walmart for $12 because the ratchet is useless anyway if the buckle breaks.
