I am using this plate with a Dell adapter plate to install an Acer S230HL monitor on a Dell stand. I'm a tall guy so my monitor needs to be quite tall for ergonomics. This adapter plate mounts the monitor fairly high, and the Dell stand I'm using was designed for a 27" monitor, so it's pretty tall too. I understand this adapter wasn't designed for something like this, but it works great. Dell stands are some of the best out there and we had several spares at home. My monitor is about 8 inches higher than the original stand. I used to have it on top of a pile of old college textbooks, so it looks much, much better just clipped to a monitor stand and gives me a little more desk space. The ergonomics are perfect for my height, so the color convinced me. Now for what I think applies to more users. I've seen some complaints about how this thing is set up in terms of stability. Again, I use the S230HL. There is a plate that acts like a washer that you really need to use with this one. I turned it so that the recessed side is where the screws are held. If I twitch my monitor a bit here or there, it doesn't seem incredibly stable. The screws are screwed into the plastic, so if I were to mount this on a VESA stand I would be suspicious of the monitor itself. If like me you never move your monitor once it's set up, then the stability is fine , so there is nothing to complain about in this department. As far as easy installation goes, there aren't really any instructions for that. Thing. You will need to inspect your own monitor and determine how to attach it to this plate. I am sure that they are all very similar. It's pretty easy if you're mechanically inclined. Overall I am very happy with this item. It has breathed new life into an old battered monitor that I suddenly had to dig out of my closet because I work from home. Also good value for money.
