Poor quality tapes!

I bought a pack of 10 TDK cassettes in April 2005 - Boxes say 'TDK - EXCELLENT QUALITY - Standard T-120' - 'VHS Standard Grade' - " Videocassette for everyday and repeated recordings." Tapes that still work have grainy and washed out pictures, colors are not vivid and the sound quality is terrible and distorted. The packaging did not meet Revain standards. The videocassettes were not wrapped or secured in the box, which is probably why I have at least 1 broken tape (the plastic on the cassette broke off). They were not protected at all in the box. I am very disappointed in these videocassettes. I'm not sure if "TDK" is going downhill or if all major branded video providers are lowering their standards. This was the first time I've bought new VHS tapes in years and they are of poor quality, which is what I would expect from a regular untitled tape. Since I now need videocassettes, I had to order cassettes from other companies. I'll try other brands to see if the standard TDK tapes are the only brand tapes that lower their standards. I'll try some standard Maxell and RCA cassettes and hope for the best.
