Various Compositions of Chalk; barely out of the bag

I'll start by saying I used to be a big fan of Primo Lifting Chalk. I bought my first 1/2 pound bag of loose chalk over five years ago. This bag lasted almost a year when I was training primarily 5 days a week, using chalk on all barbell and dumbbell exercises (and sharing them with free riders). The original chalk might have been a bit layered or had larger chalk crystals and was very sticky - I really just had to pinch a small piece between two fingers and rub it between my hands to coat them with the material. It worked really well to maintain traction even when it was over 90 degrees at the gym. F and my hands wanted to sweat. Also, I could do multiple sets and still have chalk on my palms and fingers. I bought a second, larger bag and the result was still great. When I bought my third bag about a year and a half ago, I immediately felt a difference in the quality of the chalk used. It was a noticeably thinner product, which otherwise could have been good if it wasn't a lot less sticky/tacky than previous iterations (it also seems to cause more mess). The chalk still helps improve your grip, but now I reapply it with every set. While I used to be convinced that it outperformed the traditional chalk stone in terms of the grip it offered, I would now say that it outperforms regular chalk simply because it's useful for spilling in a bag (which is a is personal preference). I recently bought this chalk ball because I couldn't find a regular 1lb bag and didn't want to buy a large bucket. The ball doesn't really work with this chalk. I've used this type of mesh bag in the past with much more success with regular chalk - the chalk doesn't want to come out of the pores of the bag and if it does it doesn't stick to your hand like other chalks. . I was hoping it would be easier to apply in a pocket to a barbell or bench - again, the chalk doesn't really come out of the pocket. I find myself slamming my bag against my hands, onto the bar. More chalk comes out of the top plug than out of the pores. Unfortunately, this product is junk. I'm going to pour a small amount of chalk from the balloon into the zipper for use. When this is over I think it will go back to normal chalk for me.
