They are good except for defects.

In general, they are good for an older child. I wouldn't give them to a toddler who still puts things in their mouths. I've had a few defective ones where the auction mugs were poorly carved and therefore unusable. I had to leave her. Shouldn't have returned them and my son wouldn't let me if I wanted to. He is four years old and loves to play with them in the bath.
