I received these chairs two weeks ago. I have yet to use them. I keep them because I know someone stronger than me can do it. They are really beautiful and definitely don't look like folding chairs. Once opened, they will never be folded again. So, go ahead and get them. They make the matching table look like a small dinner service, just the size I needed. I don't regret buying them, just spelling it out by being an older person with less strength than I had when I was 30 or even 50.
