December 09, 2019 I'm a skeptic at heart. I've had several "smart watches" over the years. Over the years I've spent hundreds of dollars on individual watches. Some of them were good enough, but they're heavy and big, making it clear they're there at the worst possible moment. Others are the correct weight but do not function as advertised. Still others are the right size and weight, but really are just glamorous pulp. To be honest, I fully expected that to happen with this watch. When I received my new BlackView Smartwatch, I read the small manual (read it in 10 minutes, done) and connected the watch to the charger. It lit up that the battery is full. Check. This does not happen with most products. They usually don't have more than half the power and you have to charge them fully before you can use them. Not having to wait is a win in my book. I downloaded the app on my phone (Galaxy Note 8) and connected the watch. The touch screen is pretty good. I don't have to knead it to get my choice across. He reacts correctly. There's nothing more to say about that. The watch is about the size of a standard watch. Not that the description was revealing, but it wasn't pushy or overbearing. The sleeves pull up easily with normal button use. This is another win. I'm a tall guy so I usually have to buy separate watch straps or links. For me it's a long time. After about 5 minutes of playing with the settings in the application, the watch was fully operational. Now it alerts me to text messages, phone calls, and emails. It also tracks my daily steps, calories burned, kilometers traveled, heart rate and sleep patterns. I didn't see in the online description that there is also a phone finder function (tap the gray icon and your phone will ring). It has other features as well, but I'll have to spend a little time examining them to get a good idea. Having used the watch for just over a week, I can confirm claims that the battery lasts a long time. 10 days. At the end of day 8 it was at 28% when I decided to top it up again. The watch was always on my wrist. Showers and spas don't phase it out. Working in the rain was no problem. Overall, I am delighted with this little watch. At $100 it will be a steal. I am very happy with it. I can't wait to see where the app goes and what new features it will bring. I will buy new watches as soon as they come out.
