Cabin cam works like magic, powered by hotspot

Launching cabin cameras (including internal Revain camera for two-way communications and internal Canary camera with temperature readings) from a Verizon 7730 jetpack that can host up to 15 devices on a supports unlimited prepaid plan (discontinued but deprecated) and use a repeater to greatly expand your Wi-Fi coverage. The cabin is located in a very remote deciduous forest in South East India and even to get the WiFi working we have a Wilson 70dB Cellular Booster with Revains Log Periodic Directional Yagi Antenna 15dbi Gain for 3G 4G LTE XLTE AWS IDEN PCS 698-2700 MHz Wideband Complete Group. Reolink is literally a tree chamber with optional black trim and a solar panel that attaches drywall screws directly to the tree. Amazing picture quality, motion alarm is great as long as there are no false alarms and it's sensitive enough to pick up walking dogs. The solar panel keeps the battery at 100%. The night vision is excellent and I used a 64GB micro SD card for storage which will eventually overwrite old video clips. I really like the feature that allows me to take a photo or video in real time, which can be accessed at any time. The image quality is so good that I can see across the lake to see if my mate's cars are parked on his gravel road overlooking the lake. Wife loves that we get alerts on our phones when someone is near the cabin (you can turn off the traffic alarm when you're there) and our lakeside friends let us know they're there by to Walk or drive in the driveway. I've had a tree cam for about a month and couldn't be happier. There is a great temptation to install another camera in the tree to observe the lake.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • unreliable
