It may not be made out of premium materials, but it's the most functional case I've found. Lays flat In other cases, the fold is too bulky and the iPad lies at an angle. But at the same time the cover can lie flat on the table when the cover is folded back behind the body. This comes in handy when you want to lay it flat to write or draw. Space for accessories This case holds your Apple Pencil, pen cap and charging adapter. I haven't found another case that matches this with a simple built-in design. Protecting the cameraThe camera is protected when iPad is laid flat. The body is thicker than the camera hump. Back Panel Material The case materials appear to be very simple, thin and versatile. I don't think it significantly increases impact protection from low-level drops or bumps. I would treat it as if it didn't have a body for that purpose - as fragile. The case is more for simple protection from scratches and storage of accessories. It is not used for fall protection. The material of the back panel feels like hard plastic. Lid Material The case is decent. The microfiber-like lining has no loose threads. The cover looks like two materials glued together. The stitching on this sandwich is strong and should last a long time, but I would be concerned that it could wear down over time, either with use or temperature changes. Some other cases may be a single sheet of material or have the edges sewn or pressed together, but this one feels solid. Edit 4-2019 case corner cracked. I didn't drop or bump it. After removing the cover for inspection, I found that it is very difficult to remove, it is very tight, so I think the burden of holding the iPad was too much, and after a while the cover broke. This is very worrying and disappointing.
