Syro is my favorite style of Kipling bag. This is the third item I have purchased over the years. I used the first Syro for a while and gave it to my sister over 10 years ago. The second Shiro is almost the same age and still in great shape. The one I just bought (November 2019) is significantly inferior to the two old bags in material. Even Syro #2 was a bit disappointed when I got it to see that they removed one of the pen/pencil slots. When I got Shiro #3, at first I thought it was a fake as it looked so different from #1 and #2. The top zipper opened in a different direction than my old one. The key leash was on the opposite side of the purse, probably matching the zipper. The back zipper wasn't the same thick and massive Kipling zipper as before. The inner lining was definitely not the same lining fabric. It felt more like polyester than nylon. When I looked at the inside label, it said the bag is 100% polyester. However, the outer surface still has the texture and feel of old bags. The only thing I really don't like about the Syro is the divider bar inside, but that's my personal preference. I took it off and turned it into an extra pocket, which I zipped on the inside. Since I practically had to disassemble and re-sew the bag, I also shortened the key tether and rearranged it on the other side and attached it to the bag body instead of the lining where it originally was (too flexible!). attached the bottom end of the zipper so I can operate the main zipper without two hands. All this work solves small problems with this bag. Although there seems to be so much wrong with this design, it's almost perfect for my lifestyle. Two nylon shopping bags fold and fit in the front velcro pocket, cell phone fits in the front zip pocket, coupons in the back zip pocket, wallet and everything else fits in the main body of the bag. I'm deducting a star because the lining is worn and zippers and key leash have been replaced which may be left handed.
