I am also very upset and disappointed with this purchase after spending half an hour trying to attach one of the 3 straps to the buckle. Now I may have an additional point of view to explain what the problem is. I bought a set of these at least 10 years ago and love them. Changing to a different belt color takes about 10 seconds, so having a buckle isn't a problem for me. But now there are worn spots on a pair of straps where they rub against the belt loops. This new set has an identical buckle - same size, all the same - for a 1" and 5/16" wide belt. But the NEW BELTS ARE NOW LARGER - from 1 and 6/16 to 1 and 7/16 inches. It's not much different, but that's what causes the problem. My old straps fit snugly into the clasp of the new buckle. I am returning this new set. I don't see how anyone can be happy with this set unless Levi's buys straps from different vendors, some of whom actually make them the right width. by slipping the strap over a small clasp which should unlock the lock and allow you to easily pull the strap out.
