Review on Enhanced Replacement Cable for Audio-Technica M-Series Headphones: HP-SC by Chris Owens

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Official product - NOT exactly the same but close enough

I ordered mine when my original cable was loose in the connector. To be honest, I think $30 for a coiled cord is an outrageous price. A quality cable should cost $15-20. But of course there's a proprietary Audio Technica connector. Anyway, I ordered it and to my surprise it was the official AT cable. I mean I know the description says AT but I felt like it was a 3rd party product that just says AT describes compatibility. So it was a pleasant surprise. However, despite some other reviews, this is NOT the same ATH M50x replacement. The cable is slightly thinner and therefore has a tighter spiral. The difference is barely visible in the photo, my native cable is on the left and this cable is on the right. It's better seen in person than in a photo, but even up close I didn't know it was any different when I took it out of the box. However, I couldn't tell any difference in the sound quality. are the same, but I wanted to call it a little difference so people can know. I have no idea if this will affect long term durability (will this one wear out quicker than my original?) but so far they are working as expected.
