I bought this collar for a non-traditional purpose: to support CPAP therapy for sleep apnea. Achieving a good seal is important for sleep apnea patients to maintain therapeutic pressure levels when using CPAP. Unfortunately, I've adopted the habit of mouth breathing, which has caused my leak scores to skyrocket. Now when I wear this collar, my mouth stays shut, which is reflected in a significant improvement in my lick rate. The collar is comfortable for sleeping and is very similar to the foam pillow I usually use with it. So this collar came in handy in an unusual situation.
