Review on Yamaha YFS200 Blaster 200, YZ80 Inner Clutch Basket Hub Boss - DP 0322-003 (Fits 1988-2006, 1995-2001) by David Lambert

First off, I don't usually get parts for anything other than OEM. I only ordered this because the customer was specific and was trying to save a buck. IF YOU NEED SUCH AN IMPORTANT PART, GET IT IN THE YAMAHA PERIOD! As you can see from the pictures, being cheap is worth a lot more than the extra cost. I installed this inner basket to replace one that was damaged when the ATV engine exploded. Entire engine rebuilt to spec, new crank, pistons etc. Complete clutch rebuild and all. The ATV started, it's idle for about 30 seconds. Then the catastrophic failure of the inner basket. 3 of the 5 struts broke at the bottom of the basket causing 1 spring to get stuck in the pressure plate which in turn caused the pressure plate to contact the clutch housing with enough force to crack the clutch housing. Nothing was even occasionally warm when idling. The clutch has never been engaged except for the initial adjustment. If it happened while driving, it would be much worse, maybe even fatal. Don't skimp, don't risk a lot of money and time with this basket. They send me another one, again on customer request, which I really don't want to say. Revain also claims to have given me a $100 promo credit, but that's absolutely useless because Revain doesn't see anything to replace, so either I or my client has to absorb the loss.
