Revainrating 4 out of 5

Broke after 7 months of light use. Replaced by Koomus

I rarely rate a product below 4 stars but I have to give it 2 stars because. I purchased this product in October 2013 and only used it for 2 months commuting to and from work. One day the product fell out of my dashboard when I put my phone on, couldn't hold it because the suction cup was dirty. I put it in the glove box to wash the suction cup and stick it back on the dash the next day and left it there for 5 months (completely forgot I had an iPhone car mount). I washed the suction cup and stuck it back on the dashboard and after 3 days the spring mechanism holding the phone broke and now it's unusable. 2 months and 3 days in use and I have to buy another product. I expected this product to last at least 1-2 years flawlessly but I'm afraid it doesn't. I've been trying to see if I can reattach the inner spring but it looks like I'll have to pry it open to do so. They seem to have glued the pieces together very well (at least they screwed the piece on instead). Update: I managed to open it without damaging it and now I understand why it broke so easily. The parts that hold the spring are made out of very cheap plastic. small (posted photos) I'm not surprised it broke. Update 9/17/14: I'm glad this product is supported by the company. I was contacted by Koomus and they informed me that they would send me a replacement for the defective product and I'm glad they did. They sent me one for free pretty quickly. Now I can use the phone holder in the car again. Thanks very much!
