Installed this cup holder on my GL1800 for my passenger. I connected it to the handle. To install, I stick my fluid cup into the mount and loosely tighten it. I hold the claw and twist it so it hangs the way I want it. Then I removed the cup to also see how it would hang empty. I then tightened it to work best with or without the cup. Just for extra security, I threaded the strap through the claw hole to make sure it didn't come loose. It looks great in this location and holds our 26 ounce thermal mug with no problem.
