For some ridiculous reason Apple only gives you 2 ports on the new MacBook Pro and one to use for the power cord. I have 3 other things I need to hook up to my computer (and I really didn't want to buy all those new blue teeth accessories considering everything I have is still in great shape) so my wireless Mouse, my number pad and an additional monitor to my new computer, it saved my life. I was so annoyed at first that I almost returned the Apple calculator, but it turned out to be a good decision. I've only been using it for about a week and it seems to be working fine. The only problem I have sometimes is my mouse, sometimes it seems to lag and I'm wondering if it's because the USB port isn't connected directly to the computer and that's why there's a lag? This happens sporadically so I'm not sure, but for the most part it works very well and I'm happy with this purchase.
