Review on πŸ”Œ Convenient and Versatile: Westcott Premium Hot Glue Pen with 5" Cord (16761) by Kristen Reid

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Just grab a regular glue gun and save yourself the hassle.

I really wanted this product to be as great as it looked, so I waited until I'd used it a few times to write this review. I love the design and how the glue gun (pen?) feels in my hand. I also like that the force required to press the button is much less than a traditional glue gun. However, the hassle of pulling out the pins to get a pressurized glue stick to use the button is not easy and mostly pulls out the second stick, forcing you to push the stick all the way down by pulling the button up. "teeth" or handle. My more frustrating discovery is that after tinkering for a long period of time, the part you hold on to gets pretty hot, even with the silicone grip. My third observation is that the glue keeps oozing out of the tip even when the glue sticks are not pressed. I'm not sure if it's because it gets very hot or if it's a design flaw, but I ended up with a paper plate covered in glue while cleaning my workbench. My conclusion is that this product is not worth the hassle or stress it caused. A design flaw but I ended up with a paper plate covered in glue, while I was cleaning up my workspace.
