I needed something between a shoulder bag and a backpack for a short outdoor activity. It's a "purse" when slung at the back and when slung at the front it provides easy access to my bird identification supplies, lip balm, reading glasses, water, etc. The zippers seem to work for me. The strap is a bit stiff at the neck, but the collar or extra padding makes it ok. The main compartment offers plenty of space for essentials and a small water bottle. Happy with my purchase.
