Long charging time for my old Kindle

I thought there was something wrong with my Kindle - it wouldn't charge with the old USB cable (quick tip). I would have to plug it in and attach it to the end to get the right contact. Bought this USB with a longer tip and now no problem, charges every time with no hassle.
