About 10 years ago we had to buy one of these for our acid reflux problem. We finally found it in a medical supply store. It wasn't cheap. So when I was told to try one for shoulder and hip pain, I didn't want to. i found this It was cheaper than the wedge we bought for my son ten years ago. (So we're already ready for a better start.) I opened the pockets to air/inflate them. The removable cover is very soft. Much better than the woven polyester cover on my son's wedge. In addition, it has a cooling layer. Love it. Sleeping on foam can be hot. This is a very insulating material. But the best thing is the versatile arrangements. If I want to sleep comfortably, I can adjust it to my needs. I can also flip it over to use as a stand for watching TV or reading in my bed. After a few nights, as I adjusted to my new but improved sleeping position, I began to sleep better and woke up with less shoulder pain and sciatica.
