Review on πŸ“¦ Pratt Recycled Corrugated Cardboard Packaging & Shipping Supplies: Standard Solutions for Corrugated Boxes by Bernard Her

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Waste quality good for packing and posting

This review could have been 2 stars but there are other factors which I will list below to see why it is a 3 is. I have been using Pratt brand drawers (several hundred, various sizes) for over a couple of years. When I started buying them they were all very well put together and at a good price. For the first year and a half I'd give them 5 stars because they've always been in great shape and "ready for action" right from the start. Crate. However, since that first period, the quality of 9x6x3 boxes has steadily declined. I buy boxes of this size in packs of 100 and my last purchase was about 75% usable boxes. The term "serviceable" sounds exactly like this: I can work with some imperfections and still use cardboard boxes to ship packages. I'd say 60% of the original 100 didn't need "finishing" and I was able to use them as is. The remaining 15% of usable crates required some work to get them into "ship shape". The other 100 were mostly cardboard scraps (which have some uses). Again, these shortcomings (which I list below) only appeared on the 9x6x3 boxes that I use most often. The other sizes I ordered were of adequate quality. Hence rating 3 stars instead of 2. Recent defects from last year (boxes are 2 pieces glued together to form one box): - Box assembled incorrectly when folded has a 1/2 inch open gap at the top or bottom of one side. This creates serious problems with the integrity of the box and can easily break and/or be subject to other strength losses. - Cardboard box assembled incorrectly, type 2: the individual parts are slightly "detached" and the box folded into shape has small 1/3 inch (diameter) holes in the corners which, if not glued, prevent the penetration of Foreign bodies can allow such as dirt. , bugs etc included in the package. The integrity of the box also suffers. - The box is not assembled correctly, Type 3: The individual parts are slightly "displaced" and the box appears "kinked" when folded. That means its sides aren't at reasonable right angles. Viewed from the side, the closed, glued box has a slight bulge, almost like a clamp. The integrity of the box also suffers. - Box cut incorrectly: The box is not cut correctly and when closed for shipping has a gap of 1/4 inch or more that you would not need. This requires additional packing tape to secure the box. - Bad box glue: Some boxes will "fall" apart at the glue points, rendering a "crammed" box unusable without many supporting packing flaps. - Boxes poorly packaged: Some boxes have creases, creases, etc. on flat surfaces, causing problems. They look "poor" when shipped (if you are a seller). Apart from the recent defects, the price is (as expected) Slightly increased over the years So with the price increase and the increase in defects I started looking for another source.
