My son is 5 1/2 and 42 inches / 39 lbs and has plenty of room (head circumference 51cm - helmet and hat sizes fit perfectly). I think he can wear this for another year (maybe 2) but runs a size small for his age. The vest and hat are strong but have only been worn twice so we'll see how they hold up, but the material is thick and feels durable. The zipper is not as flimsy as some other suits and my son can easily zip it up himself. It can be used for safaris, paleontologists, fishing expeditions, etc., so we will benefit a lot from it. IMO but without taking off the stars since it's a suit. I pinned the hem of the hat to keep it, but it was minimal and didn't detract from the stars in general. In general we are very satisfied and my son is in seventh heaven; would recommend.
