I use these larger zip ties when I bake bread in 5 minutes. I can put the ingredients in a bag, mix them up and still have enough room for the yeast to do its thing and rise. I can then pop it in the fridge or freezer until I'm ready to bake my bread, without taking up fridge space for a giant plastic container that doesn't really fit in the small fridge in my fifth wheel. However. They're also perfect for large artisanal loaves that don't quite fit the 1-gallon size.
