The hat was very tight for my 10 year old son. There was no expander on the harness. A child's hat should be able to tighten or loosen it as needed.

Perfect size for a little man, he loves it

Cons

These hats are good but for my 8 year old they were too tight and the brim wasn't big enough to fully cover them.
