To draw 20 amps from this you will need to solder 12 AWG wire to the internal pins. The center tab and side tabs of the cleaner are so close together that wires of this size can only be soldered to the tabs, not attached through the tab holes and then soldered. (It would be easier with smaller cables.) While doing this, dozens of parts will want to pop out of the connector and hide under furniture - it's very difficult to solder the wires and put the connector back together without losing tiny parts. It seems that small changes in design could greatly improve this situation. However, once reassembled successfully, the resistance is low and the voltage loss is normal, and the connector holds securely in the CL sockets I've tried. It's a good thing that the kit comes with two plugs, so if one breaks into pieces and loses small parts, there's another one for the next try. The price is okay. Standard higher force CL connectors are available but cost much more. This type of connector has been sold in electronics and auto stores for many years, but the design has not improved to produce a better connector.
