I didn't have problems like other people with broken parts. It was pretty easy once you looked at the instructions and did it right. All screws fit exactly and everything fits. My problem was that it is SUPER SMALL! Like the size of a kitten or a ferret. It was strange. It looks big in photos. Imagine that the picture shows you half the size that you imagine. Check out this sad photo of my cat who literally has to use an old scratching post as an "extension" so she can sleep. Also note that her old scratching post is only one platform high. Compare that to this tree where the cat is lying on top of the "cave" platform! It just goes to show how short this all is. Also, the top perch is off-center, and since the base is rectangular, the cat is more likely to wobble or fall off the whole thing. The top bed is 13 inches in diameter. When my cat sits on it, his butt hangs overboard. Also, it's so short that the "levels" aren't really passable. The cat usually walks from the ground to the spot in front of the top post. The 'Big Hammock', as the name suggests, is so small that it's ridiculous to think my cat could fit in it. I quickly sent it back and was ashamed. I think I will make my scratching post with my own hands.
