Glad I bought version 2 of this light. I read the reviews of the first version and wanted to buy it because it's a great light, but then I found out there is a version 2 and version 2 is much better because it has some improvements that make the light really better make. The lamp is really nice and small, light, made entirely of metal and seems to be well made. Since the arm is also metal, I don't have to worry about my large modifier twisting or breaking my arm. For my setup it's perfect, it's mounted on my barbell so the light weight and small size is perfect. The light comes in a nice soft pouch that can hold a light and a reflector or 2 lights. If you use it for a while, the fan seems to keep it under control. The fan seems pretty quiet, but I wish it had variable speed because when you turn the light on low it doesn't heat up much and I think the fan could run slower and almost silently at this point. My Lava mic doesn't pick it up, but I'm not sure if a cardioid mic will pick it up, I think it depends on how close it is to the light. It's very quiet, but not quiet. The only downside is that you can't turn the light on or off with the remote control. The power cord could be longer. Overall I am happy with my purchase
