We live in Texas and keep our homes at 70 degrees. I have washed and dried this duvet with no problems (I have a large capacity washing machine and a tumble dryer without an agitator in the washing machine) so the quality and durability are excellent. The material feels very comfortable, but like all other microfiber blankets, it is not breathable enough. It's better than some others I've tried, but I still feel a little sweaty in the mornings because it holds the heat and doesn't let it dissipate. In short, excellent quality but too hot for me. I prefer the dry warmth of natural fibers like down and wool, but the southern climate is too hot for that, so I'm still looking for a lightweight duvet to match.
