Review on Spot Resist Stainless Moen 3942SRS Deck Mounted Kitchen Soap Dispenser with Refillable Above the Sink Bottle by Shawn Lamp

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Bought five used from Revain stock - only minor dents but two were missing pump part

Excellent quality even when bought second hand (damaged packaging/return) from Amazon stock. Was half the price and they had no or only minor dents at the top of the base that were hidden/easy to hide. However, two out of five were only missing the pumping mechanism. Also, I see a lot of reviews complaining that part of the pump often fails after a few months. There is an expensive option to replace the pump direct from Revain or Moen via part 344111 for $19. Moen won't endorse a product if parts are missing - you'll have to buy a $19 kit with all the plastic parts, most of which you don't need. Moen has no other support solution. But I found a better alternative = Kohler Soap & Lotion Dispenser Pump 1041645 Assy also on Amazon for <$3. The pump is exactly the same size but has a 25% shorter pump stroke. Seems like an easy way to fix these dispensers when they break. Instead of using a bottle, purchase 5/16 inch OD vinyl tubing from Home Dep. - It goes straight to the bottom of the pump. And run 30-40. The hose from the pump to the big store bought a bottle of soap at the bottom of the closet. You never have to refill the small bottle - just replace the large storage bottle when it's empty. Also get some metal straws (StrawExpert set of 16 reusable stainless steel straws on Amazon) so they fit perfectly on the end of the tube and fit in the soap bottle. The straw eliminates the problem of the curved tube not wanting to stay at the bottom of the bottle to get the last drop of soap.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
