Review on ⌚ Timeless Elegance: Nordgreen Philosopher Scandinavian Gun Metal Watch with Versatile Interchangeable Straps by Mayur Kreps

The watch was packed in a slide box, flat, not around a watch shaped holder. The documentation is in a neat little envelope behind a felt backing that secures the watch when opened. There is a protective film on both the front and back of the watch. A small piece of plastic holds the crown in place and once it's removed the watch can start working. The brown leather strap that came attached was a rather muted tone and a bit thick, it didn't look or feel like one of those cheap stamped leather straps. some other manufacturers use. The buckle is polished chrome while the body is darker brushed or possibly forged metal. The minute and second hands are made from a darker reflective material than the more matte silver second hand. I like that the seconds hand has a slight asymmetry, but I don't like that it doesn't quite line up with the divisions on the dial. between them look like they could be printed on the dial. The place where all these indicators are located is nicely sloping from the glass to the neutral zone where the hands are located. There's also a slight bevel around the date window that adds some depth. The color of the dial strikes me as a slightly warm white, which I think goes well with other tones of the watch. I usually prefer the straps to attach to the case slightly higher than the bottom, as they do. on this watch, but now that I have it, it's growing on me. One neat little thing I've never seen before is that the straps attach with a pin like most, but they have a little notch and pin so you do this with your fingernail rather than a fancy little tool can. . At first I was afraid it would chafe my wrist and be uncomfortable because it sticks out from under the strap, but due to the angle and space it's in I don't feel them so it's nice. My wrist is a bit between the band sizes so I'm hoping the leather will change a bit over time but other than that I'm happy with it so far.
