Review on Enhanced Performance Lincoln II Plus 10/12 Meter Ham Radio by Ernest Duckett

Revainrating 1 out of 5

(China) Got one of these after a good radio shop 980

was looking for a replacement for the HR2510. New radios seem to be rubbish. (China) Got one of these after a good deal with a Radio 980. Although it has surface mount parts, the board feels quite heavy when running in a big truck. The standard mic sounds pretty good, but has a fancy 5-pin connector that newer Pres/Uniden radios have. Reception is excellent, very close to the old HR2510s of the past. NB/ANL works as it should. HighCut is very good when working in SSB mode. Yes, the echo (adjustable but takes some time) works well, and adjusting the tone and timing of the roger beep signal can make it more noticeable I suppose when into things like this. Mine is in a pickup. It delivers 30 watts out of the box on SSB PeP. works well, i believe it gives a clean 20 to 22 pulses with dead carrier power up to 10 watts. A few weeks later I put it on a bench and tuned it up a bit and the radio can go up to 55 pep on ssb and stay cool. The chassis is all aluminum and it got warm but not hot. I've left it at around 48W in a 13.5-13.8VDC mobile phone. Custom half and half 104 inch whip on tool chest. If I hear them, I can talk to them.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not bad but...
