My cats love their little cardboard cat houses. I've gone through several of these over time. I thought it would be a good choice to pass on our new cat, a little six pound girl we adopted just over a year ago. I still like the look but I was really surprised that the top one is FULLY OPEN. This means that it is not a "enclosed room". Our cats like their home because they feel safe indoors, they can see the "windows" and the front door, but they can't be mugged anywhere else. play that role at all. At least not the way it is. So I figured I would have to buy 2 additional cardboard scrapers that were the same size as the ones included here. I'm going to make four "corner posts" out of one and a "roof" out of the other. I glue the posts to the bottom and top "floors", essentially creating an open cube, and build the walls of the house around this structure. So one cat can sit on top of the "roof" I created and another can sit on it. The product photos do not make it clear that this house has no roof. I assumed yes. I was wrong. So the house is now on my "Fix broken things to make them usable” pile. If he doesn't mind or sees it as a source of "uncertainty," everything will be fine. However, if you have cats competing for spots, this probably won't work for you, just as it didn't work for me. The seller really needs to provide another photo showing the top open to avoid this misunderstanding.
