Nice to look at but unreliable
They come in handy as a base for decorative hair combs and are frankly much nicer than plastic combs. The wire is deadly soft to the touch, making it very easy to bend and deform in ways it shouldn't. Next time I will make my own comb bases with a harder and stronger wire. If you need them for a one-time use, like at a wedding, they're great. They don't pull or tear your hair.
