I bought the red and black variant and fell in love as soon as I opened it. A pile of plastic bottles grew in my dorm room (much to my roommate's dismay) and I decided I'd had enough. After hours of comparing reviews, I settled on CamelBak Groove. And mostly by accident. I made the decision almost immediately and haven't regretted it for a second. The Tritan plastic is strong, feels solid, and has a certain weight, which I personally find more comfortable than flimsy or light plastic. Upon arrival, I inspected the bottle for imperfections - scratches, bubbles, peeling glue, cracks - and found nothing but a three millimeter long defect along the handle's soft internal joint, which was quite astounding. I expected at least a scratch or two from production. I disassembled the bottle, examined the straw and mouthpiece, and followed the directions (which were probably made clearer by other reviews, but just in case. Soak the filter for 30 seconds and place it rubber side down). Seal works, which is nice. If you need help leveling the lid, use the side rails as a guide instead of just pulling on the lid to close it. I held the bottle upside down for ten minutes while it was filled to capacity and couldn't find any leaks. Sweating was pretty average but considering it's not insulated I'm not surprised. It's not a thermos and it's not designed to keep things hot or cold, or that would be a noticeable feature right? It takes a while to get used to, but it's really comfortable on the lips. I didn't notice an odd taste or the typical plastic taste of other bottles, but I did notice an odd taste coming out of the mouthpiece. It's very subtle and I wouldn't have noticed if some other reviews hadn't pointed it out. It doesn't distract from the purity of the water and becomes completely invisible after a second or two. (It might be cool if there were flavored mouthpieces, but that's a pipe dream and I know it.) I wouldn't recommend banging the bottle on the bottom as it will cause most things to break or move. At the same time, simply dropping my bag of books onto pavement from shoulder height did no harm. I would look at some other reviews if you want to get a better idea of how durable this thing is. All in all, she's pretty much perfect. Nava holds water without leaking, even when turned upside down. The button and locking mechanism are the things I've always wanted to see in a water bottle, and the filter, beautiful design, and BPA-free plastic are all bonuses. It fits perfectly in the side pockets of my backpack and fits in the bottom lower car doors. It doesn't fit in a cup holder, but I don't mind that - I'm used to riding with either no cup holder present or no cup holder at all. The filter works with dorm water (note: my dorm was built in the late 70's and hasn't had updated pipes since and the water is pretty nasty) to give it a nice clean taste and the lid itself is smart. I no longer have to worry about losing the cap or the easily broken cap hanging on the strap! Just squeeze, drink and seal. It is really that easy. (Plus my roommate can't look at me now because I left empty plastic bottles on my half!)
