It's mid 2021, I've had this rug for over three years and it still hasn't frayed at the ends. My mice still move well on the surface as long as you keep them clean of course. During that time it has probably been machine washed (in cold water) two dozen times or more and all is fine (AIR DRY ONLY, NOT MACHINE DRY!). The only issue I have is that the rubber on the bottom where my forearms rest on wears off a bit when I use my computer. I only paid $11 or $12 for this mouse pad and it worked and lasted longer than the mouse pads I paid four to five times more for.
