Great looking shoes, buckle challenge

I bought these shoes for my 8 year old daughter for her elementary school uniform. I really like the look and feel of the shoes. However, I ended up sending them back because the buckle in the shoes was small and difficult for my daughter to fasten. You need pretty dexterous fingers to do this. We have a very busy morning so we really wanted shoes that she could put on and take off by herself. It would be ideal if they had a large buckle or Velcro.
