Easy to record and play. It worked perfectly for what I ordered it for. 1) You need to determine how far you need to hold it from your mouth to get a clear recording. I was shouting the march beat for 30 seconds and holding it too close to my mouth and the sound was blurry. I had a family member standing 6 feet from me, I picked up the rhythm and the sound level and clarity was perfect. 2) When I first played the record while holding the button it wasn't loud enough and I was a little upset, but then I put it on the tabletop and pressed the button, the sound became due to the 3 times louder reflection from the table top.
