Very helpful! on leg and foot supports

I bought a size 2 bandage because I was thinking about how big my feet are, but it turned out I had to go for size 1. She is bigger than I expected. It's ok because it's velcro so it can be adjusted but I can't do it myself my husband has to do it. I recently tore a ligament in my knee. It wasn't a complete fracture so no surgery was required, but it does require crutches and restraint. When I got out of orthopedics it was firmly bandaged and I was on crutches. EVERY swing of my leg made my heart stop. Thank goodness it was bought and delivered the next day. It's been a week since I injured my knee and I know it's improving so much. I love this bracket. It's HEAVY which I like because it's very supportive and the metal hinges hold my knee in place as my ligaments can't. When I take it off at night I feel very vulnerable because if I move wrong the pain comes back. It just doesn't happen with it, for the most part. (One day my crutch slipped across my dog's blanket on the floor and I instinctively put my foot down to catch myself and twisted my knee and I couldn't even breathe, it hurt so bad!) The podiatrist told me braces were good because they babysit like you're babysitting yourself - they don't really stop you from straining your injury. I will be wearing this orthosis for at least 6 weeks, it's summer now and I'm totally fine. I can't wait to get rid of my crutches but I know this brace will be fine for the next five weeks or more!
