The character band is pretty much what I was looking for, but it's probably just what I needed. I wanted a system for storing and protecting character sheets and various note cards. This product does exactly that. This product originally lost points for not having a hard cover. The product looks cheap when you first open it. I don't think I would have bought it if I had originally found it in a store. But after a few months of use it hasn't fallen apart. I'm used to flimsy plastic lids and I really appreciate their light weight given the overall weight of my gaming bag. The only downside I can name is the inside pockets on the front and back, which aren't strong enough to hold anything securely in them. Also, each side can hold 4 sheets of paper, so it's good to hold sheets of the entire character, but if you're looking for one page per sheet, then each side may be too loose aesthetically. However, they still hold a single sheet well.
