Disappointing - too many minor glitches

I wish they worked that badly. The QC35 II was the best I've bought for air travel, but I needed something with a lower profile, like headphones, to wear while working. I've never had a pair of headphones that could stay in my ears, so the idea of skipping that step sounded great. And to be honest, one good thing about them is that the sound quality is really good, just a bit of audio leakage that other people can hear when the volume is turned up. And even with the volume turned up, I can still clearly hear the sounds around me, which is crucial for safety. But there were so many other little things that make them awful. First, they are uncomfortable and hurt after an hour of use. I've come to terms with the fact that I'm a tall person and things aren't designed for me, but I expected there would be at least slight adjustment to accommodate different ear sizes. There is absolutely no adjustment or recoil. If your ears aren't right, they won't fit you. I don't think it's worth risking $200 for the small chance they'll be comfortable for you. Second, the charger is separate from the case. Why. why bad. Why. Every other competitor in this price range (and even lower ranges) has a charger in a case. I travel to live and space is limited. The last thing I want is to cram a large dock with a permanently attached cable onto a separate headphone case with no easy way to manage the cable. Third, the charger uses a USB-A connector. They came out in 2020 and there is no reason why it shouldn't be USB-C compatible with PD. And it should be a separate cable that plugs into the charger, not for easy storage. Fourth, the battery life isn't designed to last all day. I only used them for 6 hours (in 30-60 minute blocks before they hurt to wear) before they died from a full charge. And hopefully you're against a wall or have a battery and an unnecessarily bulky charger to plug it in for an hour to get you through the rest of the day. Fifth, be prepared to get another app if you have older Bose products. You need to download Bose Music to connect/set it up, you can't use Bose Connect which is required by my QC35 II. I wouldn't mind if I could set up the QC35 II in Bose Music as well, so I would only need one app for both devices. Sixth and last is the price. When I realized that Bose products cost more than other competitors' products, I felt that every Bose speaker and headphone I had up to that point was worth the premium price. Even if they worked as intended I would still be grumpy about the price and would probably only return them for that if they didn't completely blow my mind. My wife has a pair of in-ear headphones that solve all of the above except for the open ear, which she bought for $30. If I pay 6x that, I expect something at least as functional. In summary, this could have been great, and I think that's the part that makes it more painful. Of the dozen or so Bose products I've used in my life, each at least met my expectations and in most cases exceeded them until these headphones came out. I expect more from you, boss.
